wintv any good?

looking at wintv systems on ebay
thing is theres a lot of them for sale, is this because they are not good ?
whats the deal with them ? are they worth getting or not
been looking at the wintv nova usb
what exactly do u need to get this working correctly ?
any help would be very helpfull

I have the Nova T 500 PCI card, and it's brilliant. Just make sure that you don't use Hauppauge's software with whatever you purchase as it's ugly and buggy. Windows Media Centre is much better!

Yeah, I have the Nova-T-500 PCI card and use GB-PVR which works great. Avoid the Hauppauge software though, it's nowhere near as good.

WinTV seem to be one of the default card brands (a bit like Creative Soundblaster), I've got a 350 (analogue, with onboard encoding/decoding), and the only complaint i've got with it is that it has no Vista drivers, and didn't cope with widescreen at all well (it was an older card i think from before widescreen was that common in much of the world).
