Hi.

I have just built a new rig and installed Windows 7 - build 7000. I have also the HVR 4000.

I have this as a Media Center build in my front room. I currently have a normal Sky setup with the standard Thompson white sky box.

I installed the full WinTv package from the latest CD off the site 4.6b. It all detected and installed. Also came with PoweCinima or something like that which seems a bit crap (your opinions?) Doesn't detect the card anyway. I also installed the WinTV software which doesn't detect the card either. Windows does however.

Couple of questions:

MCE seems fab, and to be honest I would be happy just using this. It does detect the card. I have my TV arial plugged in and it does detect the channels. I can watch but when I change Chanel or initialize it stutters and flickers, this looks a bit crap. Can anything be done about this? Also I get allot of green blotches, I know its not my signal as when its plugged into my TV directly (DVB) its fine.

Next question - Using sky. Im actually just after freeview Satellite HD. If I plug my sky cable directly into WinTV card now how do I get it to go into my sky box as well? is there some sort of pass through cable or adapter? Can anyone recommend one? (UK)

To actually input sky I would be quite happy doing it through the composite in on the WinTV card and just recording it that way, is the acceptable? you guys have any better ways (without me spending any more £) Does the standard sky box do a composite out!? (I can check that myself im just being lazy :rolleyes

The Radio - In MCE I can click radio and it shows and plays white noise at 88.3, when I try and change the seek/tune it just says cant be done, tuner is already in use.

Is there any way to dissasociate the radio from MCE and let the WinTV radio software have priority and thus controll it?

Is there any defacto software the hardcore community uses apart from the PowerCinima thing, WinTV or MCE? I really dont want 10 different packages just one which works best with HVR 4000 (UK)?

Sorry for this long post. I have tried to scrawl the forums for some answers but nothing definitive to all my questions.

Many Thanks.
Jimbo.

It can't provide much help, but there is a dual tuner bug in Win7 at the moment, and it is in beta. THat flicker isn't present in vista mce (ulimate).
