Cant seem to get my tv card to scan for channels and media portal crashes when I try through that. Anyone got any ideas or hints on what drivers to use. I have installed the hauppage drivers I think it should have and they all appear to be working correctly but the thing wont scan for channels

Any ideas?

Driving me nuts, media portal used to work, but stuttered, now tried media center and it says tv tuner not found!

Even the wintv application is not finding any channels and there are about 10000 drivers for it on thier site! Anyone know how to use this thing, or if not a good/cheap freeview card that will work with windows mce 2005?

Worked at it most of the night and still no joy!! Anyone got any ideas - keep looking on the hauppage site for drivers and the one I think I need the link is broken!

Have you tried the standard stuff of pulling the card out, rebooting, shutting down inserting the card back in and boot it up again?

I've got a couple of the Nova cards in an old HTPC of mine and had to pull them back out once and do just that to get them going again! never had a problem after that!

Thanks for the reply, tried that. Media center just wont recognise. Re-installed mce, put it in different pci slot. I think its a driver issue but cant see why. MCE 2005 keeps encountering a problem on close as well now!

Well, ended up buying a new card - the hvr 1100. Still had the same problems - finally found out that it was the mce 2005 not updating itself to sp1 that was the problem - and that was a pain. Wasted £40, but at least its working now!

Cheers all for the ideas
