WinTV Stuttering - Setting 1 core affinity permenantly?

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this as its got me puzzled.

I have a hauppauge NOVA-TD USB stick and it works fine off the house aerial on my laptop (Dell Latitude D630 2GB RAM 2.2GHz C2D) but on my desktop (Shuttle st20g5 1GB RAM 2.2GHz X2 HD3650) the sound starts to stutter then drops out completely. The picture seems to be unnafected.

I'm going to have a fiddle with the sound drivers, as thats what I think it may be. However, it seemed to be working better before when I had my old x800 and a single core A64 in there, so who knows...

Has anyone else had this? All suggestions welcome.

I had something similar when I was on a Athlon X2 system, however I was getting both sound and picture stutter.
My fix was to set affinity to 1 core and the problem was gone. Had no problems at all with a C2D rig though.
I vaguely remember having to install some AMD hotfix also ...... Does'nt sound like the same problem you have but thought I would mention it.

Setting the affinity to 1 core seems to have worked. Does anyone know of a way to get it to do that permenantly? It seems like i have to set it every time I run the program.
