Looking for a way of creating a shortcut in WinXP Pro to turn on and off my wireless card/network at the hit of a couple of keys....can this be done on a desktop?

You could make a batch file called Disable wireless with this in it:

net stop "wireless zero configuration"

That'd work if you're using that service for configuration of your wireless card, does the job on mine.

then simply have another batch file that has this in it:

net start "wireless zero configuration"

that'll start it up again.

Thanks for that. Is there no way of doing it like they do on laptops so that I can program it into my logitech media desktop to just press Fn F1 or something and goes off and on?

If you have the batch file made and in the location you want it you could try this:

right click on the batch file, make shortcut.

right click on the shortcut, select properties

under the shortcut tab there is a "shortcut key" option. Entering in a shortcut there and clicking OK should then allow you to do what you want. Simply make another shortcut and alter it for the other batch file.

Worth a try, never really used that option before personally :) seemed to work when I made keyboard shortcuts for paint.net (http://www.getpaint.net/index.html) earlier.
