so, ive had this problem for ages (maybe years) - sometimes my winxp (SP2) takes ages to load and sometimes it just freezes on the loading bar.
i can solve this by going into safe mode, uninstalling the display driers (nvidia), using driver cleaner, reseting and reinstalling the nvidia drivers in safe mode - then it starts normally.
it hasn't done it in a while but it just did it 10 mins ago and i for got how annoying it was!
i'm not sure what the problem is - some things on the web say update the firmware on the hard drives (sounds risky) or update the motherboard drivers (its an nforce 4 ultra chipset and my drivers are a bit old).
i'm wondering if anybody has heard of anything similar? - i generally don't like changing things on my PC because thats usually when things go wrong.
cheers
