is it possible, and if so how, for me to relocate my "my documents" folder to another hdd?

i don't mean just copy and paste, i mean do it so windows knows where to look when i click my documents on the start menu/keyboard shortcut etc. and also i'd like to be able to recover this situation in the event of formatting the boot drive.

im sure im asking a stupid question but any help is much appreciated.

Click Start, right click 'My Documents', click the location tab, browse to where you want to put them (don't make it the root of a drive if you have any UT3 engined games) and say yes when it asks if you want to move all your stuff.

Can someone please give me the same answer but for Windows 7? My dilemma is that when I install a new game, it stores the data in C:\Users\[user name]\Documents. It was simple to relocate to D: on XP (by right clicking the shell folder) but I can't seem to hack it on W7. Many thanks.

I think if you goto C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\

Right click My Documents click properties. There should be a location tab. Click that then click move. :)
