Don't you agree?. I am a huge fan of the wipeout series and it's weird only one game was ever made for the PS2.

Now that a PS3 version is underway what do you think needs to be done to keep it fresh. I think a wider track, or more routes like motorstorm complete with all the weapons would make this great.

Are they not making a new fzero too. Will be a good face off for next gen :)

im sure they will at some point could be interesting with the wii mote a game like that could really work cause it involves tilting rather than proper cornering

More crafts, more tracks, better sensation of speed and better sound.

I honestly don't know and i bet they have a weekly meeting to get ideas then try them out.
I am itching to see what it will be like though. Online multiplayer is a must.
I really want to know how they will use the SIXAXIS. I hope it is an additional control as opposed to primary or nothing. I'd like to keep the regular controls, but use the tilt like the air brakes are used currently.

Good point about the SIXAXIS, I hope steering is sone by tilting left and right and the brake by tilting back.

Its funny, when I'm playing Wipeout on my PSP, I find myself tilting the console when airbraking into a corner even though it does nothing, used to do the same with the controller on the PS1. Sign of a good game IMO if it tricks you into making movements.

Does anyone else do this??

Wipeout on the sega saturn > *

Apart from Wipeout 2097 on the PSone ;)

That wins purely for having Firestarter in the soundtrack. Chemical Beats on the original Wipeout still ranks as one of the best songs featured in a game too though.

I'd like to see really high defined models and textures, effects such as heat and plasma screaming out the engines. So some great graphics.

What I didn't feel with Fusion on the PS2 was the hardcore feel of the original on the PS. The way you hit the walls was extremely unforgiving and I know it needed improving but the physics and momentum still feel so rewarding when you hook it round the track correctly.

So I'd like to see a lot of realism. Odd request given there's nothing in the real world to base it on, but I'd prefer more of a simulation in the next WipeOut!!

Is my memory playing tricks with me I thought there were two WipeOut's on the PS2 (plus one on the PSP)

Would be great to have a version on the PS3 - pity its soooo far away
