One of the finest on the PS. Capable of producing incredible surges of adrenaline in the user with only a slim chance of permanent braindamage.

I loved this game back in the day of the PS. So easy to forget how I spent a stupid amount of time completing the game and then perfecting the lap-times.

I loaded WipeOut again last night, on the PS3. At first I was amazed how bad some of the bitmaps on loading screens were. But, my initial shock was replaced by a massive dose of nostalgia as I saw the 'Designers Republic' influence everywhere.

I got familiar with the handling after one lap, and continued to play the game for a good while last night. It's as good now as it was then. Think I'll play it again tonight and start collecting those lap times again.

Classic.

Aye, I remember playing Wipeout for the first time and was blown away at the jump in the audio and visuals over the 16bit era.

2097 was better though :p

I know what you mean mate, love that game to bits, I'd almost says it's my most favorite game ever made, I think half of what made that game so great was the music, it really helped fuel the adrenaline rush,

I don't own a ps3 but I will be buying one soley for blue ray and the new wipeout, how does the original wipeout look on the ps3, is it upscaled at all ?

no upscaling yet unfortunately. but i think it's great to play it over a big screen on the PS3 now anyway. hopefully we'll get better emulation with graphical improvement at some point which would be a real bonus.

One of the better games for the PSP, almost makes me want to charge it up again.

Fzero X > Wipeout (never liked GX)

I kinda enjoyed the wipeout games, but for some reason they just didnt click with me, the way if you just nicked the side it put you to an almost stop, and weapons... hmmm... I enjoyed fzero X a lot more than any of the wipeout games and I still play it today, theres something about the speed and the twichiness of the control that makes it sublime.
