Wiping a laptop

Hey all

I have a laptop which was a works laptop but now my own, unfortunately it has admin rights and a virus so pretty much unable to do anything on it. Is there any way I can re install windows and wipe everything from it?

Cheaper the better aswell.

Yeh, you use the recovery disks that came with it. If you don't have them then turn the laptop over. What version of Windows did it come with? Look for the Microsoft sticker if it come with Windows on it.

Or you could use a linux, google OS which is free.

It says it has windows vista buisness on the back of the laptop but when it boots up te login screen is windows xp professional.

Frankly any OS disc should do to wipe it although depends what OS you want it yourself.

Im just going through the process of installing vista from the disk I used on my pc. All seems well so far. Cheers

did u reformat disc before installing ?
