Dont really know where to post this, but here it goes...

How safe is the wire sleeving kits to use? does it matter if the ends that you cut (which unbraid themselves (frayed)) are showing, or is this likely to cause a fire hazard?

last thing i want is a bonfire in the middle of my room

Buy some heatshrink and put it over the ends where the frayed bit is.

No worries mate, it is not a fire hazzard, just an eyesore.

I'd rather use electrical tape than nothing.

i have got electrical tape on the bits that i can get to. However, there are one or two long bits that the electrical tape hasnt covered.
As long as it doesnt substantially increase the risk of a fire, im not too fussed, as the bits that are frayed are pretty much unnoticeable.
