Wired and Wireless on same machine?

I am currently connected to my Router via a cable, this is an XP SP2 laptop running latest updates.

I have a D-link DWL-G122 also installed and connected, however, the connection is "limited or no connectivity" - IP is 0.0.0.0 and subnet mask is 0.0.0.0

I have tried to repair it, but it fails.

The wired IP is 192.168.1.65
subnet mask is 255.255.255.0

Should i manually assign the IP address to be the same as the wired, or give it a different address totally?

I have never had this situation before! Its doing my nut in!!

All the other wireless machines (and both my mobiles) have ips assigned by DHCP

The router is the DHCP server, and appears to be working fine.

I did try that, even a re-boot and it failed.

In the end i assigned it a manual IP, and this worked fine
