Something wrong with your Caps Lock key?

as no-one replied

That would be a struggle, given it got locked...

And no, that's not the right cable, unless you're connecting two machines together directly. To connect a PC to a router, you'd be after a normal patch cable (though the shop don't sell a 15m version of that, as far as I can see).

It should be more reliable than bad wireless, and it'll always be quicker than 802.11g.
Whether it's more reliable than you'd find wireless is a bit of an unknown.

hehe your a right funny onion you are, final question, does it plug into the network port on my mobo? or do i need a special network card?

the patch cable thats coming from my router. ill draw a flow chart to help explain things a bit easier.

Adsl line -->>Router - port 1 -->>short network cable with router-->> old pc
--------------------- port 2 -->>15m patch cable were talking bout-->>NewPC
--------------------- port 3 -->>not in use
--------------------- port 4 -->>not in use

does the cable connnect into the network socket on the mobo of NewPC

EDIT: im quite proud of that flow chart myself.
