The device may not support the latest encryption/security on the router.
That is all I can say, if you've tried the laptop and it says it has connection. There must be a slight issue with the device and router compatibility.
Edit: If you get chance, try updating drivers and firmwares both on the laptop and the router/wireless network.
Lastly, search Google for any relevant bug/problem information. Usually with issues such as your's; it is caused by a bug/problem to do with a firmware/driver in need of an update.
