Hi

I use a Linksys wireless adsl router which I use my laptop wirelessly with this.

I want to add a printer but I don't want to have it wired to the laptop as it is not practical as I always move my laptop around.

Do I need a wired or a wireless print server as I'm not sure?

Thanks

You could have a jetdirect box connected to the printer near the router?? Connected to the printer?

Or get a wireless printer??

How much you thinking of spending?

I have my ethernet printer connected to my router upstairs, still means I need to go up there to get my prints though..

Depending on your budget you can get pretty good multi-function boxes now with built in networking.

I have a little HP all in one thing that cost me about £120 and its been brilliant, just wired into my router and installed the drivers on my PC's and Macs and its worked trouble free since day one :)

I bought my bro the Canon MP600R Wireless Multifunction Printer. It's pretty cool, does loads of stuff and only took 10 minutes to setup on the network. :D

Think all in all (inc. delivery) it came to just under £200!

Don't bother with a print server (obviously if you have an awesome printer then it might be worth it), pick up something like a Brother 2070N for ~£80, plug it into your router, and you're laughing.

I've got a couple of print servers, one a wireless and one wired, I could never get them to work with my epson printer, something to do with print spooling. As suggested get a multifunction printer with builting networking.

I'd change my epson printer if it wasn't for the large amount of print carts I've got in stock :(

I do a lot of printing so was looking at an Epson D92 as the printer I buy must have compatible cartridges available for it.

Budget is about £100 for printer & server.

Thanks for the advice so far.
