When I plug my Wired Xbox 360 controller into my PC at first the light on the controller flashes and then it shows the bubble that says "USB Device not recognised" in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
When I go into Device manager it is listed under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" as "Unknown device".
I have the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows drivers installed, and they work with my driving wheel that acts as a 360 controller. I incidentally had a similar problem with that device however I managed to find the driver in the "Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
When I try to do the same fix with the controller when listed as an Unknown Device the driver does not show up, not even when I ask it to stop listing only the compatible devices.
Anyone know of a fix? Nothing I seem to find using Google works.
