Does anyone know:

1- When the retrofit kits are being sent out?
2- What the retrofit kit is?
3- If you receive any notification that they have received your form?

I'm just paranoid that they won't send it to my correct address and since the only contact I have with them about the issue is via snail mail rather than email I feel less secure about the situation.

I'm assuming its the whole wheel they're changing, as the problem is it apparently can start smoking when the force feedback is switched on.

Going to send my form off at the weekend. I dont see how a new power supply will fix the problem if its the main unit smoking.

I'm guessing that its something you place inline between the power supply and the wheel, reducing the amount of power it is allowed, making the force less powerful, and lowering heat and stress...:eek::D

I imagine it will limit peak power so you shouldn't notice any side effects like reduced torque.

I guess thats all they are going to do. If it weakens the force feedback then stuff that, I'll send off for the fix but still use the old psu. Just wont leave it plugged in unattended.

got a wheel but know nothing about any of this...

where can i get the form - if i need one?!

EDIT: Sorry, just seen the gizmodo post

Anyone heard anything about this retro fit??.
Sent me form off ages ago and havent heard a thing.

Been using the wheel all day today with pgr4 and loving it but just wondered if microsoft were doing anything about this problem they had with them
