Hi All,
Looking to get some ac access points. Looks like the most cost effective way to do this is to get a compatible router and stick it in WAP/Bridge mode.

Any recommendations for £80 (each), could stretch to £100 if it's worth it.

Can you not buy some BT HomeHub 5's off the bay? They are cheap as chips.

I bought one for £30 and using it with my Virgin SuperHub in modem mode.

If you're looking to get multiple ones, are you wanting to be able to roam between them easily?

If so I've found using an assortment of routers as APs doesn't work too well.

You want to go for centrally managed APs. Out of your price range, but have a look at the unifi APs for what I mean

Not really, i don't find that roaming consistency in important.

I've gone for a couple of Netgear AC750s because they're cheap, i'll test and if they suck (which they probably will) i'll send back.

Other than that, i think the other option is the Linksys EA6500.
