Sorry if a similar question has been asked before but here goes.

We have just bought our own place here in New Zealand and one of the first things I want to do is get decent wireless internet in the place. The house is a 2 storey property.

My thoughts are to get 2 x Ubiquiti UniFi U6-LR Dual-Band AX3000 Long Range access points and position them central on the ceiling on each level.

I am thinking this way as I'd like to move away from Mesh systems so I don't have devices dotted all over the house that need to be powered.

The Ubiquiti Access points can be powered by POE which makes things simpler and cleaner.

Is there any other systems I should be looking at or will what I said above be more than enough?

Thanks a lot.

1 wall or 1 floor between the clients and the access points. If you can’t achieve that, add more access points.

The more expensive U6 access points are good, but don’t forget the U6-lite which is half the price and does a great job.

Likewise the U6-IW is a great device. One cable gets you 4 RJ45 ports and an access point in a room. It’s huge functionality fir the money.

And select your high end U6 access point based on your clients - lots of IoT devices and the 4x4 2.4GHz U6-LR is better whereas if yiu mainly have AX and fast 5GHz AC clients then go with the U6-Pro because that where it shines.
