Wireless access points for office

I need some wireless access points (min. 2) for a medium sized office. They’ll be for internal use only, mainly to reduce the 3G data usage on the mobile phones.

Ubiquiti kit has been recommended on this forum. The Ubiquiti UniFi 802.11N AP appears to offer the functionality I’m looking for at a sensible cost. Is there any reason to avoid them?

I installed two of the UniFi access points this afternoon and all is well.

For what they cost I'm rather impressed. The centralised management software and the included PoE injectors made the installation a breeze. It was also nice that they basically just look like a slightly oversized smoke alarm and blend into the environment.

Be careful with the PoE, unless you have the Pro model then it's not real PoE, so you risk damaging equipment that you connect to the powered port by mistake. Also means you won't be able to run then off a PoE switch.

For what they cost they are great little units though. I prefer Meraki personally but they cost orders of magnitude more than the UniFi product.
