Wireless access to wired network
Question: I have a wired network, with a Speedtouch 546 /4 port wired router connecting 2 desktop computers and 1 Laptop to the Internet.
I also have a Linksys BEFW11S4 Router v4 that I wanted to add to my network in order to give me WiFi for my Laptop.
The Speedtouch is configured (Using PPPoA) in such a way that I can plug any PC/Laptop into any of the 4 ports to access the Internet.
However the Linksys does not work when I plug it into one of the 4 ports.
I have used the Linksys Easy link connect, My speedtouch knows that the linksys is there however I am unable to obtain an internet connection through the Linksys.
Can someone give me some suggestions; please may I add that my network knowledge is in its infancy
Thanks

You only need one router - so you have to choose which to use. If you want to add the Linksys device to your network as you have already tried, you need to disable everything on it that does any routing. Mainly, disable DHCP and don't connect anything to its WAN port. Then it will just be a Wireless Access Point. Alternatively, you could have saved some money by just buying an Access Point in the first place.
