Hi all

As the title states, my dad is after a wireless internet adapter for his Intel 14th gen build, any recommendations on decent ones please? His Pc Is upstairs and wireless is the best way for him...

Cheers

any old USB adapter or pcie card will do then if signal wont be an issue.

considered homeplugs? they're cheap as chips and assuming the wiring is ok then they're plenty fast enough (I'm making assumptions that he doesnt need an ultra low ping or Gb download speeds)

Has the op or his father done something to warrant such dubious advice? Perhaps run over your dog or crapped through your letter box? If they haven't, then responsible people don't recommend certain things, OCZ SSD's, Type R PSU's, ASUS products in general, and absolutely not power line based products from any of the three standards, as they're all crap.

OP: Older router in client mode if you have one suitable, if going USB then consider an extension lead to allow optimal positioning of the dongle, and something with external antennae will generally give better results than something with an internal version. Probably not worth buying anything under a 6/6e spec card at this point if you have the kit on the other end to support it.

I've used multiple sets over the years and for anything that doesn't need over 100Mb they're...fine, again, depending on the requirements they're cheap. YMMV but my son swears by them and his PC is 40cm away from the router through a wall but he finds them better for stability (!!!11oneeleven)

PS/ Crapping through a letterbox would take practice and a level of flexibility I certainly don't have.
