Wireless Adapters and Ping

I bought a wireless adapter for my PC (D-Link DWL-G510), I have noticed that my ping in games is higher. It used to be around 60-70 and now its usually 100+, which obviously makes shooter games frustrating. That said the last time I played online games was nearly a year ago. Its possible my ISP has just gotten crapper.

My question is it possible to a gaming wireless adapter for desktops that would have minimal additional latency or is it simply a case of getting a wired connection as wireless is fundamentally flawed in this respect.

Wireless is always going to have higher pings than physically being plugged in, likewise it could be your ISP as well. Best bet, plug a wire in, look at the pings then compare the difference to the wireless adaptor.

I got rid of my wireless, when although I was getting "Excellent" signal and 54Mbps, it was dropping so many packets it just got fustrating.
