Wireless Adaptor Advice

Hi,

I am moving to a new house where there is Wireless downstairs, a Sky N router. My PC has always been wired, so I need to buy a new wireless adaptor, but is there one that is faster / better for gaming, or are they all fairly standard?

I haven't touched wireless before, I am so behind the times!
