Hi i have to use wireless internet when at uni. theres no way around it. I'm currently using a belkin adaptor from a friend. when playing games my connection generally dies. either i get a lot of lag or the internet gets cut out for everyone on the network. i thought back at home things would be better. i have my computer upstairs and I'm connecting to a network with just myself on it. playing tf2 is better on my home connection but I'm still having a bit of trouble. the most annoying thing however, is live for speed where i time out a lot. i was wondering if getting a new adapter would help if i got a good one?

any help would be appreciated

ps

this looks like the adaptor i'm using

however it says 54 mbps instead of 125

How do you know it is not just the performance of your internet connection? At home, have you tried plugging your computer into the router with an ethernet cable? If so, what's performance like then?

ok. i've plugged into the router with ethernet and tried some games. everything is fine, now i dont have any lag. but now can anything be done about my wireless problems?
