Hi all, I'm trying to set up a wireless network for my Dad and so far I'm not having much luck.
He has ADSL BT Total Broadband and the modem for that works fine via ethernet. Where I have a problem is when I take the DSL cable from the bt modem and put it into the new router, for a start the dsl light on the router flashes and doesn't stay solid, meaning something's up. The WAN light is on although the internet one isnt.
I can access the network via wifi but I can't access the internet, even with ethernet. Ive tried to enter the bt ppp details into the router setup but it says that the ADSL connection isnt active.
Originally there were two cables going into the bt modem, one labed dsl and another phone line, although it works just with the dsl one. The router only has one socket and ive tried both cables.
Anybody have any ideas? Do i need to go via the modem to get a working connection? and btw i don't want any wired connections, just wireless with one laptop. The router is a Zoom X6 and the modem is a BT Voyager.
thanks any help appreciated
