Good evening all! I hope you are all well.

Struggled for years with wireless in this house, I think the walls are too thick or some nonsense is providing interference.

Finally moved the BT line into the loft & in need of a device that does:

- Awesome wireless
- ADSL2+ (with Annex M support if possible)
- Gigabit Ethernet

Been looking at Cisco X3000, everything seems good - any thoughts on them?

If it's going to solve my problem I'll throw £100~ at it.

Billion BiPac 7800N with 3 TP-LINK 8dBI aerias as upgrades. Fitted a fed of these recently for customers in there roof (old style BT installs cable off a pole, roof shortest reach of cable).

I spent a while researching these late last year and in the end I went for a Linksys AM200 modem with an Apple Airport Extreme.

Yes, it's two items, and yes, one's an Apple item but you get your ADSL2+, you get your gigabit and you get your 5GHz. And they all work exceptionally well.

Nice! I today ordered 3 1600mw boosters for the billion and a nice thick 18mm sheet of MDF. Going to mount it all that then bolt it up nice and hight in my attic to give more range

What's the elevation radiation pattern like from these high gain antennas? If you are mounting it high up where are your recievers in relation to the lobes?

I was going to ask this but I live in a bungalow so need range horizontal as opposed to vertical, so I'm guessing they be fine for me?

The range on the 7800N is damn good anyway in my experience. My router is up on the 2rd floor and I had 5 bars on the ground floor.

I only bought the boosters for the lol factor

I get full cover on my iphone on ground base walking about, i put it high so get good range and semi line of sight. I stream 720p to my 1phone 4s up to 1/4 mile as is :)

Can ask a real novice question, what does 5ghz offer?

Other than answering the door and being gay like the guy on BT advert more coverage as it's able to go through ''anything''. It doesn't and it's still new hense £75 for it!! WAN only!
