OK two seperate problems here.

First I have a wireless network setup using a Belkin ADSL G ROuter. However nearly every morning I have to power off the router for about 10 mins then power it on to get the internet working.

There are 4 lights on the front that need to be on but in the morning I only get the lights to show PWR, LINE/SYNC and NETWORK. However the light for WEB ( I assume its for web as it has pic of the globe above it) is not on, and thats when I need to do a reboot.

I have done a firmware update but still getting prob and it is very annoying not really what I had in mind when buying the router. Anyone else had this problem or know what the solution is. I am thinking of just going out a buying a different router.

The second problem is that I wish to move from pipex to tiscali because it is cheaper. Currently I am on the 1mb service because my line cannot support a faster speed.

When I checked with tiscali on their website it says I can only get 512k, checked on the BT site and that said I could get a max of 3mb, pipex site showed 1mb. Called tiscali and they done a check and said I can get 2mb.

Recently called back tiscali as my order has not been completed after the 15 days period they said it would take, now they are saying I can only get 512k so the order was put on hold. I then checked the BT wholesale site for my speed and it says I can get 1mb+.

Is there any department in BT I can contact to confirm what my line speed can be and how it can be improved or should tiscali do this for me.

hi mate,

i had the same problem with my router. first check to make sure that you've got filters on ALL phones in your house. second make sure your not useing an telephone extenstion line for your router.

if all of that is fine and your internet is still dropping out, i'd call your ISP as it's more than likley a falut with them. (it was in my case!)

I have a belkin router and if you enter the config page on it (go to internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar) after you login there should be a button to connect on the top left.

that should save you having to restart it every time.

let me knoe if that doesn't work!!
