I'm looking around for a wireless keyboard that is also rechargeable, because I'm sick of changing batteries all the time.

As far as I can see, there's only the MS 7000 and 8000 entertainment desktops, and the di Novo Edge. Does anyone know of any others? How about something a little smaller?

You do not get them, how could you mount the KB in a Cradle after use ?.

You recharge the Mouse and fit rechargeable Batts to the KB if you must and swap/alternate the recharge (you would then need 4 Batt's).

I have been there and dont it and got the T-shirt, advise for the KB you use Duracell M3 Batt's which will last you well over 1 year using the KB many hours a day.

Of course you do! They sit in a cradle like this:

The Microsoft one slides horizontally in.

Just wondering if people knew of any others.

Is that a fake or joke because its nowhere on the Logitech site.

There is no real need as Batt's last 1year+ now, a KB is not as hungry as a Mouse.

That's not what I get out of my Trust, used with my VMC HTPC. I get no more than a month, and it's always a hassle as they begin to run out.

However, I know the Di Novo and the MS solutions are seriously expensive, which was why I was asking if anyone knew of any others.

I suppose it depends if it's just a keyboard. Mine has a built in trackball, which probably suck the juice a bit more, but is necessary for a HTPC.

I suspect it's more a case of the quality of the RF kit in use, and the functions of the keyboard - to add recharging to a keyboard is fairly expensive (same reason it's not found on more mice), so only used on high end ones that will need it (IIRC the ones that have it, have displays etc).

If you've got a trackall in your keyboard that is probably what's eating the juice (much the same as a wireless mouse will need it's batteries replacing much more often than a normal keyboard).

Your best bet might be to look for a wireless keyboard with a touch pad for the compromise between cost, battery life and control options? (or get a couple of good sets of nimh rechargable batteries - 2400ma or higher and a good charger - shouldn't cost more than about £25).

the di Novo Edge is great i have one, and would not have anyother my be expesive but people spend 1000's of pound on computers and sofware but there no point in having bargin bin keybords and mouses, they dont feel as good. it feel so good to use. you will not regret it, plus it will last a fair few year if you do not get food down it, or spill something on it.

Hello,
I got my DiNovo Edge keyboard as a birthday present in January this year and I love it. Don;t really miss the number pad but who needs two sets of muber keys on a keyboard anyway! The battery in it lasts for ages and when it does need a recharge you just pop it in the charger over night and alls hunkydory in the morning! It also looks classy with the fade in and fade out keyboard lights and the touch sensitive volume control! I know it's expensive but it's a very very high quality keyboard and you pay for the quality and it should last for a fair few years yet I hope.

It's also fantastic to type on as I love the laptop style keys on it!

Regards,
Neil
