Hi all,

I live in a grade 2 listed Georgian building. With super thick walls and 4 levels. Basement to 3rd floor. I can currently get my wifi on the top floor and in the basement but not to the back of the house. The router is on the first floor near the front of the house. Moving it isn't optional as it is a shared house.

Router:

TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

It has three detachable antennas so I have taken the middle one out and replaced it with a 16dbi yagi antenna. This now reaches the back of the house however the wireless is extremely slow. About 1mbit. Which is pretty crap for sharing video files or even general browsing/downloading.

Whats the best solution?

Should I invest in a 1watt 2.4Ghz amplifier?

Should I invest in a TP-Link 15dbi omni directional antenna (TL-ANT2415D)?

I'm open to suggestions, low cost is preferred of course :D

Ta,

Tom

edit: hope them images are allowed? Let me know if not!

Thanks for the reply. I tried homeplugs (the TP-Link 200mbps) however we are on different rings and the signal was around 10%
