Howzit guys,

I have just gotten an Xbox 360 and love it.

However I want to have it in Tammy's room ( Girlfriend) to which is across the garden. Now, at the moment, he PC is connected to the router in my room 25 meters away. Which works fine.

So, I got an Asus WL520g Wireless Access Point. The plan is this...

ADSL -->> SMC Wifi Router -->> Asus AP -->> Wired Ethernet to Xbox 360. And also have her PC connected to Asus.

I have managed to get the Asus connected some how to the SMC router. However with Tammy's PC, I am unable to see local networks on SMC and I am unable to use the Internet. :(

I am sure I have some settings wrong. :(

Any help, would be greatly appreciated guys!

So the wireless AP is playing wireless client, connecting to the router, then working as a bridge to the wired network?

How do you know the Asus is connected to the router? Does the machine or Xbox get an IP (it should get it from the router)?

Correct.

The only way I can confirm a connection is that in the WDS page of the SMC router, it shows the SSID and MAC address of the Asus AP. I assumed this meant it was connected. I unplugged the Asus and the SSID etc, in the SMC dissapeared as it could not pick it up.

I really appreciate any help!

If you set the AP to use WDS, it isn't working as a wireless client but just working as a repeater. You need it to actually work as a client.

As I see. How do I set it to client, and then get it to get internet from the SMC so the Xbox and other PC can use it?

Appreciate the help!

There should be an option in its web interface, if it'll do it. Once it's working as a client, the rest will just work.
