Hi all,
We just moved into a barn we are renting and the neighbour is giving us his wifi connection, trouble is he is using a Linksys WRT54GS router about 30m from our part, I went in earlier to reset the router as it kept dropping and his brother is looking after the house so could not speak to him.
I noticed he has a Cisco extender put between the router and the barn we rent so we are about 15m now from that extender but we only ever get 2-3 bars signal. The internet (Entanet which I have heard bad things about) drops a lot but when working I usually get 600-800kb/s download speed.
Should I invest in another extender or anything that anyone can suggest to boost the signal as I am unsure whether it is due to being so far away or the ISP itself losing sync, the router doesn't seem to show me via logs.
Cheers.
EDIT: Cisco Linksys RE1000 Wireless-N Range Extender Bridge (300Mbps) is what he appears to have in the hallway between us and the router.
