Wireless bridge or repeater

What is the difference between a wireless bridge and a repeater? I want to extend the range of my network and I’ve bought a new buffalo router to do just that but it supports both methods?

Repeater is on the singel device (like amplifier)
Wireless bridge is between two devices. For example: transparent connection between two access points.
