Wireless Bridging - Where have I gone wrong?

I've spend a good few hours trying to get this working, and it'd getting annoying now


I have an O2 Wireless box II (Thompson 585 v7) this is connected to my O2 Broadband.

I have a Netgear Dg834G v3. Wired connected to my laptop (for testing purposes) it will end up being wired connected to an original Xbox.

So the configuration:
WPA enabled and both using the same channel.

585 - 192.168.1.254
DG834g - 19.2168.1.90



On the 585 I have enabled WDS set WPA as the encryption.
Scanned for Access points and found the DG834

I have manually assigned the IP address for the dg834G and turned off DHCP.

Enabled WDS on the DG834 and set the option as Wireless point to Multi Bridge and entered the 585 MAC address.

I have entered the following information onto the laptop:

IP: 192.168.1.91
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.90

DNS Automatically set

From the Dg834 I am unable to ping the 585.

From the laptop I am unable to ping the 585 either.

I assume it is possible to have a wired connection to the DG834 which is a bridge to the 585?

I have I missed any settings out? Or is the IP configuration incorrect?
