Wireless burglar alarms?

How much ?

Anything under £200 is cheap.

Pro installs start from £500

I have a Wireless setup which cost £200. Like Andybtsn said, the kits go up in stages so the more you pay the more PIR sensors, door sensors and remotes you get. The higher end ones can link into a phone network etc.

So whats your opinion on it? Any good?

Is that a wireless one though ..

No, it'll be a proper wired alarm. Don't forget that wireless alarms give you cancer (on the basis that everything that transmits allegedly gives you cancer)

... drill lots of holes in his house and tack miles of ugly cable all over the place ...

And that is why you get a proffesional to fit it. Nailing wires to the wall is what an amature would do.

I saw on watchdog once (I think) that there's a device you can legally buy that when you turn it on and put it in your pocket it blocks these from working. They didn't tell you what the device was though.

So what is the purpose of Professional installers for Wireless Systems ;)

From my point of view having wires running through your house is last Centaury stuff, wireless all the way :)

No idea as I only have experience of my unit which is a Response Alarm.
