Bit weird this one.

Have just been setting up my nephews laptop and when trying to connect to the wireless in my flat, the network is not visible.

It is on as can see it on a wireless analyser app on my phone and also Mrs S is merrily using the connection for her laptop.

The laptop is seeing other networks, so am fairly content that the adapter is working correctly. My network is set up for Channel 13 as is the clearest channel in the flats.

Ant suggestions or ideas are greatly welcomed

Thanks in advance

As above, some adapters can only see up to channel 12. Also make sure the network mode is correct. Most cards nowdays support dual band, i.e 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. if you're looking for an "n" network, it could be using 2.4 or 5 as it's supports both, but if you're adapter is in 5GHz mode it won't see a 2.4GHz network. (Some adapters scan both bands automatically but not all of them)

Likewise if the laptop adapter only supports "bg" on 2.4GHz it won't see an "n" network that's set up on 5GHz.
