I recently moved into a new house where they have Virgin wireless set up. I have a PC but due to space am borrowing a laptop for now. Although i can see the wireless network fine and even connect to it, when it connects it says it only has ''limited connectivity''.

Basically it is struggling to find the default gateway, and as such doesnt acquire an IP address.

Here's what ipconfig says. You can see what the settings should be by looking at the ethernet/wired settings.

C:\Documents and Settings\Dave>ipconfig/all

From the looks of it, it's a D-link wireless router plugged into the Virgin box.

Any ideas? I've tried changing settings numerous times, doing the wizard, doing a million repairs on the connection etc...

Thanks.

Positive. I took it off my housemates settings, and you can see it there^ when i plug in with wires.

can anyone else connect wirelessly mate?

have you been on the router config page to see if every looks ok?

Whenever I have seen this its because the security settings for wireless arn't right.. it says its connected but its not really.

Review all the settings and the key that you are using :)

Argh. It was the password. My housemate had written it down wrong. Honestly.. why couldnt it just tell me the password is wrong?!?
