Wireless card disagrees with my case...

So I've pretty much finished building my new PC; it's ready to be turned on and such. I then noticed that I had forgotten the wireless card, so I set about trying to install it. After a good 5 minutes trying to get it to slot into the PCI, I realise that the problem seems to be the slightly curved end of the metal part (shown on the right of the sample image) which won't slot into the case, unlike the graphics card already installed. I now realise that I won't be able to attach it with any degree of precision, which would risk breaking my other parts. Any solutions?

The brackets are usually easy enough to bend without even having to resort to using any tools. Get the end straightened out and get it installed.

If it's just the lowest part of the bracket that's angled out very slightly then that's probably how it's supposed to be.

A slightly misaligned motherboard could be the problem.

Yeah hacksaw the tip off the bracket, the top screw will hold it firmly enough its a light card. Ive taken metal brackets off GPU's for slight mod work no trouble.
Some cases have fiddly insertion sockets for that angled bit.

I got it. I decided to put the metal part in the other way and bend the hole open a bit, then forced it into where it was supposed to with a screwdriver. Then I screwed it to the case properly and I guess it's in there. There were a few loud cracking noises coming from the motherboard but it looks alright :I

as the CM case is getting very warm now two heaters are going full blast in the very small office.

Be transferring too, hopefully with no fiddly bits :p

The plainer the look the better as no one will question having a gaming PC there.
Also the KVM switch is hidden so its all good to swap between the office PC and a gaming model.

win win:D
