wireless card fast enough?

Should be it's wireless G. As long as you don't switch to the 50MB as that uses wireless N (although you get a free adaptor with it).

No I doubt it will be, I have 20 mb Virgin and on my laptop I only get about half of the maximum download speed about 1.1 mb per sec whilst on my main pc which is through the ethernet I get the full speed about 2.2mb per second.

In thoery the maxium bandwidth the Wireless G standard has is 50mb (I think) however in practice I think your lucky to get about 12mb due to overheads etc.

Agree with that, you will get much faster on ethernet. On my 50mb, I get about 45-48MB on my desktop, 6-8MB on my iPhone and about 20-25 on my wireless n laptop. Vast differences as you can see!
