Bought this the other day from big multi micro electornics store on the high street

Cost £25 and is made by Sitecom

I fitted it and booted pc, windows dected the new hardware and wanted to do it's thing. Said no i put the disc and loaded the utily, then rebooted, new hardwere thing and it instaled the drivers and job done

Now it works just but it's not right what so ever

It uses it's own log on software to the net when you fire the system up, you get this big anyoing winows and the pc freezes which i havent had for a good year now. I want it just to use windows zero conflig thingy. I'm not allwoed any cables at all cos my landlord is a bit of n00b on this.

Anyone able to help? I did think about taking it back and getting say a belking usb one maybe that will work better than the pci one

I know you said you want to use Zero Config, but have you actually tried it? Make sure the service is started, then in the control panel, choose network connections, right click on the wireless connection, properties, wireless networks and tick the box to allow Windows to manage the connection.

Personally, I'd rather use a piece of damp string than a piece of Belkin crud.

I've used some similar clone cards that specifcally state their software should be installed before the card. On not reading this until too late the card never worked properly.

Try removing card, uninstall software and remove all traces of card and software in safe mode.

Cards software probably has an option button for using XP configuration facility.

I originally had netgear cable router and usb device. Rubbish.

Upon changing to a belkin router and usb device I have never once had a loss of connection so they can't be all bad. Or maybe I just got lucky?
