Wireless card not detected

I was in a game of BF3 when the internet decided it would disconnect. This caused BF3 to crash and when I tried to end the program my whole pc froze up and I had to reset it (I've never had to do this before). I have had a problem when the internet would disconnect when I'm playing games and the only way to reconnect would be to disable and re-enable the wireless adapter.
Upon restarting, windows didn't detect my wireless card. I ran the driver installer to uninstall and then reinstall the driver (don't know if this was the correct thing to do) and it now works again. However, windows now lists it as 'wireless network connection 2' on the network connections page in control panel and it has #2 next to the adapter name in device manager.
Is this going to be a problem that needs sorting or shall I just carry on as normal now?

Thanks, James

Turns out the problem isn't sorted. I went back on BF3 and after about 5 minutes my pc disconnected from the internet and froze again. This looks like a problem with my wireless card as it's not the router. I'll try with a wireless dongle and see what happens with that.
