I have a Safecom SWART 54108 or similar router with wireless internet set up! Now, my laptop a Benq model with a built in wireless lan card has trouble getting a strong signal from the router. Everynow and again the connection will be lost and the connection signal is always on low even though im only directly below the router (Router is upstairs).

So my question is, would i be better off buying a seperate wireless card for my laptop and if so which one......? Or would it be the problem of the router itself that cannot produce a good signal.

HI

A USb or PCMCIA card may give you better signal but it is not certain.

Have you tried changing the wireless chanells on the router ? I would do this first

If you have other wireless networks when you scan it is very possible that one of them is on the same wireless channel as your router and affecting you getting a full signal.
