Hey there,

I have an HP Mini 210-1012sa that my other half has updated from windows 7 starter to windows 7 ultimate 32-bit and since a fresh install and having downloaded the correct drivers from the HP website, I am unable to get anything working in regards to wireless network. The drive is installed and the device states it is working but no networks show. I have plugged in a 3G dongle and installed that and still it does not work.

I've disabled the windows firewall, no antivirus or anything blocking it as far as I am aware of and the wireless services have been set to automatic and started. Not sure if anything else depends on it as in dependencies it doesn't say so. I'm completely stumped here, tried installed the OS again and drivers to no avail. The router works as my other half is connected to it and 3g works on hers also. Any ideas would be much appreciated as I need to sort it to download work related files, cheers.

I turned computer on this morning having giving up and it shows wireless networks, went to retrieve the password for the router came back and gone back to the same problem!

This happened when the computer went into sleep mode or hibernate? when it turned the screen off as I hadn't touched it in awhile and came back.

Ok, I just turned the notebook on after being off for about 17 hours and it showed the wireless working after I disabled the processor sleep C4 or something in BIOS. I am now connected to the net typing this via my 3G dongle as I am not at home.

It appears that the network adapter may be going to sleep but i am still unsure of the problem is, any ideas? I have turned a lot of services on/off also so I am unsure what to do to test this as I'm not used to Windows services.
