Hi there,

Recently my wireless internet connection just drops out on my laptop, we have a PC on the network and occasionally my brothers laptop. It seems that I am the only one that suffers from this problem.

We used to have BT Voyager 2100 modem and in the last 2 days we have a new Belkin router, i am not sure on the actual product id.

As I was the only one who suffered this problem i reformatted my laptop and it hasn't helped.

Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be? This might sound weird I think that the connection drops when I am on certain websites. I was playing a flash game today and it kept disconnecting. I was on autotrader today as well, and it was disconnecting.

I downloaded the driver from the Dell website so I am not sure if that is the problem

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Deep

a weird one, but there seems to be a couple about at the moment, could be some sort of interferance from another device. or a faulty card. Next time the problem occurs, go to command prompt,

start > run > type " cmd"

then try to ping 127.0.0.1

type in the cmd window
"" ping 127.0.0.1 ""

this is the networks card loopback address, and if you dont get a response, the problem lies with the hardware. let me know your results.

Is the driver the latest? Does Windows Update find any newer drivers?

Also, if you go into the settings for the Wireless Adapter (via Control Panel or Device Manager) can you set the speed manaually? (i.e. 802.11g instead of Auto). Is power saving disabled as well?
