Firstly apologies if this is a stupid question but I'm a complete novice.

Recently bought sony LCD W4500 tv and Sony 350 bluray player which both have a Lan connection. I want to view Photo's etc on the Tv that are on my PC. I currently have a wireless router set up upstairs for the PC and wii. To save running cables downstairs can I just buy another wireless router and connect it directly to the TV and bluray. Do wireless routers speak to each other to take the place of cables.

Any help greatly appreciated

They do if they support wireless bridging.
I'd check that the LAN port is deffo a LAN port. Some Satellite kit connects to the internet to get licensisng for pay per view channels etc but don't act like a proper network connection for streaming or displaying pictures.

Read the manual first

Most wireless access points can work in bridge mode, i.e. pass data from the wireless to wired network. Wouldn't buy a router though, getting it working will more than likely be more trouble than its worth.

You could also just go with a powerline networking system, one upstairs to connect to your router and one downstairs for the TV/BR Player, put a small switch on the one downstairs and you're away.

If it is like my fathers Panasonic tv the Ethernet port is only for updating the firmware and the Program guide and i think that with the blue-ray player it is for extra content off the web(profile 2 stuff like dir commentary etc ,free screen savers and the like)
Your tv does have a USB port especially for photo viewing apparantly so use that :)
