Got virging media broadband so currently running the superhub which is located upstairs.

Our living room downstairs is a deadspot, signal strength is practically non existent most of the time and only occasionally kicks in. I'm not sure its a problem with the hub more the construction of the house....its like we have lead walls as we get zero mobile coverage as well.

So looking for a reasonably cost effective way of getting wireless into the living room.

Any suggestions on a decent range extender, ideally one that will work with the superhub in router mode.

If I can avoid doing so I wont get a router and change the hub to modem only i've not really had any problems with the hub so if i can avoid the added cost i will!

If you are directly under the hub upstairs then this is a natural DEADSPOT for antennas, also I have seen post (LOADS OF THEM) that do not rate the superhub that well.

the hub is in my "office" (aka the smallest spare bedroom) which is at the back of the house, the living room is at the front downstairs.

I've seen the posts on the hub as well but not had any of the issues people have...my internet speed is 18.97 download on a 20mb connection, I dont have any issues on my gaming rig as it connected via cat5 and not wireless.
But if the best thing to do is turn it onto modem mode and get a router I will do....but I still think I'll need to sort something for downstairs as I had the same issue on the old VM router i had before the superhub

Have a look into powerline networking
1 plug into 13 amp socket by router, connected via cat5 cable
other plug in room 13 amp socket giving out a wireless signal :)
