We are trying to find some wireless headphones for my mum (who's hard of hearing) so she can listen to the telly.

She's got a Samsung model UE40H4200AWXXU which doesn't have a traditional audio out socket. It's got a Digital Audio Out though.

Any suggestions re. cheap wireless headphones or any other solution?

We are looking at about £20-30.

Wireless headphones that take optical in don't come cheap. Cheap ones only have analogue input, so you'd to buy a DAC as well, like the one linked above.

Cheap analogue RF headphones are not really worth bothering with though, because cheap components will likely result in them being more prone to picking up interference compared to better quality ones. Even happens with better analogue RF ones. Digital RF is better, but you're talking £100+

For Bluetooth; if the TV only has optical out, you need to spend £25 on a DAC and transmitter before you even look at the headphones.

I imagine cheap Bluetooth headphones will fare better from a connection point of view than cheap analogue RF headphones will.
