Hi Folks,

Just moved into a new house. The aerial socket is the other side of the room to where I want to put my TV. I'm not going to trail a coax cable to the TV.

Is there a wireless way to transmit from the aerial socket to the tv? Or via plug sockets like wifi range extender?

Cheers,

M

It's illegal to rebroadcast the wideband RF signal direct from an aerial feed like that. Any device would be classed as a TV transmitter for which you'd need a broadcast licence. It's okay though if the RF signal is decoded by a TV tuner and converted to an AV signal. That's how AV senders work.

If the aerial socket is in an inconvenient place then the answer is to run an extension cable; that can be internally or externally, but it really is the only answer for the wideband RF signal from your aerial unless you install something to convert it to AV first.
