Hi i have bought a new bluray player that can connect to the internet via the Ethernet port but i the room i am putting it in does not have an internet connection and i am wondering if there is some sort of receiver /dongle that will work from my wifi connection ?

help appreciated

A long length of cat5e would be quite a bit cheaper.

Another option would be a wireless ethernet bridge. You could get a wireless G bridge like the TP-Link TL-WA500G for less than £20, but depending on the distance from the wireless router and your internet connection speed - this would not be as fast or reliable as a powerline kit. A wireless N ethernet bridge (which has much more range and bandwidth than a G - so long as your router supports N) costs more than that powerline kit.

Which model of blu ray player do you have, should tell you in the specs wether or not it has wireless built in. Unfortunately my budget sony bdp-s 360 doesnt have wireless so i had to use homeplugs. Another alternative would be an ethernet cable, of course this will depend on how far your br player is from your router.

thanks but i cant run a cable to it as its in the conservatory and my wifi router is in the front room and the lg player is not wifi enabled which i bought on price and i should have thought about it as it would be good for the bbci player and the itv player
