Need to buy one tomorrow.

Wickes one was rubbish.
Homebase one was rubbish.
Don't think B&Q had anything to offer.

I need something with a reasonable range (10m ish) and that will actually work!

Thanks

I could sell you one, but can't garauntee Christmas delivery! :(

(In the MM of course ;))

We've got one at work that's about 10m away, and has novelty tunes. No idea where it was from though... :(

well i need it by the 27th. if we did special next day?? would i get it?

If not everyone else...please recommend me a shop i could get a decent one from.

having a party...need to know when people arrive!

How do you mean they don't work?

It's not exactly a high tech bit of equipment, so if 2 haven't worked then look at the reason why.

Do you have a wireless network or a wireless phone? If so do they both work fine?

My parents sell them but you're to far away, could try that big catalogue shop.

Local B&Q superstore has a wide range from different suppliers.
****** also have some too. ( hmm do they count as a competitor ? ) edit: oooo starred out so the M word IS a competitor then !!!

I'd advise getting a receiver that is/can be plugged into the mains.
We always end up with no doorbell as the batteries run out on *** receiver - an early Friedland unit - and it has no low battery warning :( So usually only realise when friends say we weren't in when they dropped round :)

well they work occasionally. i've no idea why they sometimes dont. yeah wireless phones and bluetooth on phones...other than that. i've no idea why.

do you mind asking your parents for a recommended brand? would be much appreciated. the large catalogue store doesn't appear to have anything except a homer doorbell.

The big green cat has them, got a cheap one from there about £20 and it works well over 10m, ive got mine plugged in downstairs and upstairs on the landing and works fine.

B&Q do a Byron one for about 7 quid and it works fine for me, never had a single problem with it. Must be something else causing them to not work

big green cat?

probably a bit advance but still a neat gadget (if a little big)

Panasonic do a doorbell that has a built in camera which can be linked to a dect phone. So you can see who is at the door from the phone and even open the door from it

When I was living in a shared house at uni, we used to hide our wireless doorbell in one of the housemates coat pocket when he went to the shop. They had a remarkably long range and we used to keep pressing it once he was in. He used to come in steaming each time ;)
